This presentation seeks to provide information about trauma, Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and the other mental health issues that can arise after experiencing a trauma, like depression or anxiety
This will include the definition of what a trauma is, examples of trauma events, symptoms of PTSD and how they cluster together to form diagnoses, and the potential long-term consequences of experiencing trauma. At the end of the presentation, we will discuss ways to cope with trauma, PTSD, and other mental illnesses in healthy, adaptive ways, and what it means to take care of ourselves after traumatic events. There will be a Q&A opportunity at the end of the session to address any concerns or confusion that comes up.
