Musical performance.

Mom and Pop are bringing their musical talents to CALS libraries this summer! Mömandpöp creators, songwriters Bobby Matthews and Virginia Ralph are Little Rock natives who have been working with kids, music, art, and theatre in some capacity since 1985. After high school, they both attended the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, during which time Bobby formed beloved Little Rock punk band, Trusty, and Virginia began to work with underground theatre company, Reponde de Capite. They finally joined forced in 2012 to co-write an original children's musical for the Memphis Children's Theatre Festival, entitled "An Old Forest Fairy Tale."

In 2015 they first performed what would go on the become their first ever show as Mömandpöp, called "The Mömandpöp Comeback Special", and they haven't looked back since. Since then they have won two Parent's Choice silver honor awards for their CDs "Mömandpöp" and "Look Closer," and are currently writing their first video series.

About the branch

The tenth library in the Central Arkansas Library System was dedicated in Sue Cowan Williams’s honor on March 22, 1997. Fittingly, the Sue Cowan Williams Library serves the community near the historic Dunbar High School building in downtown Little Rock, where Williams taught. Today at the Williams Library, patrons can see the same commitment to education and equal opportunity that inspired Sue Cowan Williams to take a stand. Williams offers a wide range of programs for children and teens.
