Instructor Stephin Booth provides hands-on musical experience with Afro-Caribbean drumming.
Drumming with Stephin Booth is coming to CALS this summer! Booth has been playing percussion for more than 35 years, having been taught in various percussion styles, including Afro-Cuban, Puerto Rican, Caribbean, gospel, funk, hip hop and jazz rhythms. Since relocating to Little Rock three years ago from Los Angeles (where he played percussion for bands such as The Chambers Brothers and collaborated with members of Earth, Wind and Fire), Booth has been liberally spreading around his percussion knowledge. He holds workshops and exhibitions at libraries and schools, performs live for local organizations and at various venues, works with at-risk youth and is involved in several other projects.

The Central Arkansas Library System and the City of Sherwood completed construction of the new Amy Sanders Library in early 2018. The new building has 14,500 square feet of space on a heavily wooded 15-acre parcel. The setting of the building is within the existing trees and steep terrain to enhance the uniqueness of the site, bringing the outside in.
