Learn the technique of Japanese paper marbling called suminagashi. Participants will get to make multiple marble prints. Registration is required and space is limited. This class is for primarily for adults, but teens may register.
Suminagashi, often translated to "floating ink", is an ancient Japanese paper marbling technique. Ink is carefully set upon the surface of the water in concentric rings. A slight flow of air or a tiny undulation in the water surface creates ripples or whorls in the ink pattern. Placing a piece of paper on the surface transfers the ink to the paper, revealing a unique and beautiful design.
There will be enough supplies and time for participants to make multiple prints. Registration is required and space is limited.

The Central Arkansas Library System and the City of Sherwood completed construction of the new Amy Sanders Library in early 2018. The new building has 14,500 square feet of space on a heavily wooded 15-acre parcel. The setting of the building is within the existing trees and steep terrain to enhance the uniqueness of the site, bringing the outside in.
