Let the music speak with Brian Fairbanks (Willie, Waylon, and the Boys: How Nashville Outsiders Changed Country Music Forever) & Stephen Koch (From Almeda to Zilphia: Arkansas Women Who Transformed American Popular Song).

Brian Fairbanks worked as an investigative reporter at Gawker and the Consumerist and has written for the Guardian and many more outlets. Willie, Waylon, and the Boys: How Nashville Outsiders Changed Country Music Forever is the tragic and inspiring story of the leaders of outlaw country and their influence on today’s alt-country and Americana superstars.

Stephen Koch, host of Arkansongs on public radio, is a musician, author, cartoonist, and award-winning journalist in both broadcast media and print. Illustrator Katherine Strause is retired chair of the art department and professor of painting at Henderson State University. From Almeda to Zilphia: Arkansas Women Who Transformed American Popular Song profiles thirty artists who have impacted music worldwide and spread their influence in ways we’re still discovering.
