From CALS Writing Circle: Explore the world of food writing and magic through the lens of Alice Hoffman's best seller.
Food writing is a type of writing that focuses on food as a tool to advance the story. In this program, we'll explore the world of food and magic through the lens of Alice Hoffman's Practical Magic, a tale of two sisters from a family of witches, navigating love, loss, and magic while living under a curse that affects those they love. We'll look at some examples of how Hoffman uses food writing to develop the story, and then we'll write our own magical recipes using what we've learned. Contact gyguydon@cals.org or dmoore@cals.org.
