“Imagining Black Futures: Young Artists Envision Afrofuturism” is an exhibition inviting black youth to explore themes of Black identity, autonomy, and liberation through the lens of Afrofuturism.
Join us for a reception celebrating the artists! Creative activities for youth & families will be held in the Youth Services department from 2-4pm. Youth & families are encouraged to make their own "time capsule" as a personal archiving project, containing their dreams and projections for the future. The Memory Lab will be set up for teens to turn digital photos into physical mementos, ready to be stored inside. Artists awards will be announced at 3PM. Light refreshments will be served.
