Take a trip down memory lane with clips from Arkansas home movies, with popcorn and drinks. Bring your own home movies along!
Join us for a trip down memory lane with a curated selection of archival home movies from the collections of both the CALS Butler Center for Arkansas Studies and UA Little Rock Center for Arkansas History and Culture. From the Little Rock Zoo to Devil’s Den, from state governors to drag shows — this collection of footage, dating from the 1910s to the 1990s, showcases the rich cultural heritage of our region and the experiences that shape our communities. While you watch, you can enjoy complimentary popcorn and drinks and fill out a bingo card for a chance to win a prize!
Do you have home movies of your own? Bring them along, and our skilled archivists can help you identify and inspect them. We will have equipment available to view 8mm and 16mm films, Betacam tapes, VHS tapes, and MiniDV tapes. Attendees will also receive informational resources on how to properly care for and digitize their personal home media collections at the CALS DIY Memory Lab.
Free parking is available in the adjacent Library Parking garage. Bring your ticket inside for staff validation.
