TL Simpson

T. L. Simpson is a nationally acclaimed novelist and journalist whose YA novel Cope Field was a 2026 Michael L. Printz Honor Book. A longtime newspaper editor in Arkansas, Simpson draws on his experience covering sports, crime, and community life in his fiction.

In Cope Field, when Craw is sentenced to community service for hitting his father in the head with a baseball bat, he accepts his punishment without objection, knowing he’s actually lucky. About the branch

The tenth library in the Central Arkansas Library System was dedicated in Sue Cowan Williams’s honor on March 22, 1997. Fittingly, the Sue Cowan Williams Library serves the community near the historic Dunbar High School building in downtown Little Rock, where Williams taught. Today at the Williams Library, patrons can see the same commitment to education and equal opportunity that inspired Sue Cowan Williams to take a stand. Williams offers a wide range of programs for children and teens.
