Come learn about the activism of rural Black women in Arkansas that centered around Home Demonstration Clubs in the early twentieth century. Community Outreach Archivist Danielle Afsordeh will give the historical overview, then demonstrate a quick fridge jam. Participants will take home a can of jam. The Central Arkansas Library System and the City of Sherwood completed construction of the new Amy Sanders Library in early 2018. The new building has 14,500 square feet of space on a heavily wooded 15-acre parcel. The setting of the building is within the existing trees and steep terrain to enhance the uniqueness of the site, bringing the outside in.
