333 President Clinton Ave.CALS Butler Center's Rhonda Stewart will be joined by graduates of Horace Mann High School to discuss their experiences at Horace Mann and the effects of desegregation on their school and their lives.
Horace Mann High School was built in Little Rock in 1955 and opened for the 1956-57 school year. A year later, the high school closed (along with the other three high schools in Little Rock) by order of Governor Orval Faubus in what became known as “the Lost Year.”

The Bobby L. Roberts Library of Arkansas History & Art is the special collections branch of the Central Arkansas Library System. It houses the Butler Center for Arkansas Studies and the Encyclopedia of Arkansas.
